Vacations are something I look forward too along with millions of people. Hearing the word vacation alone may make some people take a step back because they may feel like it isn’t possible because of cost. All you need to know are a few tips I’ve taken on how you can go on a fun, relaxing and amazing vacation.
This is definitely my first tip when it comes to taking a trip. That goes for if you are going alone or with others. Save as much as you can from your paychecks and set that aside. Be mindful of how much you have in your account and set an amount you would like to spend in total including airplane, transportation and hotel costs. It’s not just that but think about whether you will be spending extra on food, excursions, souvenirs, etc ..
2. SELECT A GOOD TRAVEL TIME
By this I mean be mindful of the times you are going. This alone will help you reduce your trip which means saving money. Who doesn’t love saving money? For example, if traveling during holiday periods trips are prone to cost a bit more such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring break (depending on the location you desire to attend) ad more you guys get the point.
3. RESEARCH & PLAN!
Research where you would like to take your trip according to the budget you have set for yourself. If traveling to another state airline and hotel tickets will be much more cheaper than if you were planing to take an international flight. If you’re staying stateside majority of hotels offer complimentary breakfast and some even serving lunch, this is great to keep in mind and will save you even more money that you would have spent if no food was to be served. Now for a trip out of the country look for a hotel/resort that is ALL INCLUSIVE. I can guarantee you this is by far the best option because food you will not have to worry about and even activities that are in the resort themselves. Keep in mind the excursions if any that you want to complete. Look on different sites to plan your trip, compare prices and see which will give you the best deal. Personally, I like using and comparing Expedia and Orbitz. Many times depending if you are a member you get percentages off, and depending on the hotel there are percentages that are included so be mindful of that.
Save your money for traveling. Go see something different. Instead of going on shopping sprees put that aside for spending money on a trip.
Last week was one of the most exciting weeks I’ve had this summer. Well, it’s a pretty easy explanation for that and it’s because I finally got to see my then boyfriend (i’ll explain why I said that later). For almost 5 months he’s been away in Georgia at basic training; the writing hand letters, speaking briefly for a couple minutes on the phone and etc are pretty much over. This was perhaps a huge milestone in his life and I’m happy I was able to make it and share the moment. There were 2 graduations I guess you can say. One was the Turning Blue ceremony, marking they’re infantry and the next day was the graduation. Georgia was freaking hot, the humidity was insane my hair didn’t last not even 10 minutes stepping out the airplane that was perhaps the only downfall. Other than that everything was pretty cool, the hotel, the foods and even the museum the National Infantry Museum, I think it’s a must see. Everyone was telling me how great it was and that I had to check it out. Luckily I was able to do so. Overall, the trip was good but like mentioned the heat was just … not nice at all. Here are some moments, I wish I could share them all … all 200 of them but I can’t and won’t, but enjoy these few that I had captured along the way.
Oh, and reason I said my then boyfriend earlier is because he’s my fianceé now ….. he did it he asked the big question. He did perhaps the best job picking out both engagement ring and band, because this ring definitely screams my names; simple, so sparkly and white gold. Absolutely freaking perfect!!!!! Now I just feel like it’s mandatory to have my nails done at all times now.
Okay, so I know I’ve been gone for much of December, buuuuut because I went to the Dominican Republic for a little over 2 weeks. There’s SO MUCH to say and write about this trip that it will be impossible to end . First things first is, Dominican Republic is a beautiful place … delicious food, vibrant houses, good music and joyful people well most of the time ha. Not to mention the architecture, the land itself, is all so beautiful. I usually go every year or two and usually go during the summer but this time I went during the cooler time of the year which made a huge difference. The temp wasn’t overwhelming the first couple a days with nice breezes as you sit and rock yourself in the rocking chair, I think going during the winter is a big plus.
Started the trip in the Capital, then took off to Nizao where my family stays, Bani the next day then back to Nizao. Then, La Romana, Higuey, then back to Nizao then Saona Island then back to Nizao. The photos are in order from when I landed to the very last day of my trip which was yesterday. Not too mention I took my camera everywhere and have about over a 1,000 photos not to forget photos on my phone which adds about 500 + more. But I’ll obviously wont post them all because that’ll be overwhelming for people to continuously scroll down. So i’ll try key word TRY to narrow it down to as little as possible. There was so much good food, good people, good music, and just endless new adventures along the trip. It was definitely a great way to spend my winter break there, not to mention weird being home. I hope you enjoy the photos, that I wish I can show all. Happy New Year!
