Vacation on a Budget

Vacation on a Budget

Vacations are something I look forward too along with millions of people. Hearing the word vacation alone may make some people take a step back because they may feel like it isn’t possible because of cost. All you need to know are a few tips I’ve taken on how you can go on a fun, relaxing and amazing vacation.

  1. BUDGET

This is definitely my first tip when it comes to taking a trip. That goes for if you are going alone or with others. Save as much as you can from your paychecks and set that aside. Be mindful of how much you have in your account and set an amount you would like to spend in total including airplane, transportation and hotel costs. It’s not just that but think about whether you will be spending extra on food, excursions, souvenirs, etc ..

2. SELECT A GOOD TRAVEL TIME

By this I mean be mindful of the times you are going. This alone will help you reduce your trip which means saving money. Who doesn’t love saving money? For example, if traveling during holiday periods trips are prone to cost a bit more such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring break (depending on the location you desire to attend) ad more you guys get the point.

3. RESEARCH & PLAN!

Research where you would like to take your trip according to the budget you have set for yourself. If traveling to another state airline and hotel tickets will be much more cheaper than if you were planing to take an international flight. If you’re staying stateside majority of hotels offer complimentary breakfast and some even serving lunch, this is great to keep in mind and will save you even more money that you would have spent if no food was to be served. Now for a trip out of the country look for a hotel/resort that is ALL INCLUSIVE. I can guarantee you this is by far the best option because food you will not have to worry about and even activities that are in the resort themselves. Keep in mind the excursions if any that you want to complete. Look on different sites to plan your trip, compare prices and see which will give you the best deal. Personally, I like using and comparing Expedia and Orbitz. Many times depending if you are a member you get percentages off, and depending on the hotel there are percentages that are included so be mindful of that.

Save your money for traveling. Go see something different. Instead of going on shopping sprees put that aside for spending money on a trip.

24 Things I Learned at 24

FSCN1267FSCN1272 As of last week December 5th I turned the sweet ol’ 24 years. The fact that I’m 24 even thinking about it is crazy, because I still get asked for my ID for like everything, like I am getting old & time is flying. For crying out loud my little brother looks older than me. I feel like I was just in high school yesterday, now I’m just a college graduate, like what ? Now I keep thinking “Wow, I’m almost 25, meaning I’m literally almost 30, which is close to 50, which is basically 75” I need to relax on that though and enjoy 24, ha! I compiled a list of things I learned throughout my years. Although my husband laughed at my list, it’s all actually true

  1. For the love of God, wear your retainers
  2. If you have to think about it, don’t buy it
  3. The Lifetime Movie channel is heaven sent
  4. Dogs are needed in life
  5. Announcing your accomplishments & future plans are not for the world to know. People can be spiteful
  6. Be nice to people. A simple “Hi” can make their day
  7. Cooking home meals beat takeout
  8. Cleaning keeps you balanced
  9. Prayers work, if consistent
  10. Lazy days are needed
  11. Drinking water & minding your business makes life easier
  12. Don’t worry about how far along others are in life. Your different so your path will be different
  13. Exercise to keep healthy & active not just looks
  14. You can’t satisfy everybody
  15. Get a hobby
  16. Do what makes YOU happy
  17. Sometimes you got to say how you really feel
  18. Stay faithful to your hair dresser
  19. Bills suck
  20. Stop worrying about things you can’t control
  21. Have a taco or two or five
  22. Travel, work is cool and all but a break is cool too
  23. No one will ever do your eyebrows as good as you.
  24. TREAT YOURSELF

A little set back this week on posts including this one. But it’s okay many more important things had to be done still going to be consistent. As I’m listening to this Lil’ Mama interview at 105.1 Power The Breakfast Club i’m about to float through this post. The title is honestly all about the shoes I’m wearing. One word. LOVE. These I purchased from Simmi online, they are inspired from “Aquazzura” Wild Thing shoes. But to keep it real I for one was not really about to spent $800 + on shoes. No thank you. At first I saw them, saw the price but wasn’t willing to spend the money, that is where I did my research. I one day was online shopping for clothes on Lulus.com and saw them there. One that looked similar. I was freaking out. I didn’t think twice and ordered. I got them in the mail and was severely disappointed because the material, color, shape just everything was so off. So I automatically returned them. I got so upset until I randomly stumbled upon this website and saw them again and I gave it a try.  And they were perfect. These are honestly one of my favorite pair of heels I own.

New Year

DSC_2212

HAPPY 2016! Time flew by just like my skirt that I wore this past week. It’s so strange it’s December and I had the nerve to wear the following things; skirts, slip on’s and sweaters (no coats). This winter started of very strange here in New York it felt more like fall. I took advantage however and wore my skirts and went on about my business, don’t get me wrong I love doing that but I really want it to snow. Like Hello? Snow? Where are You?

During the summer I purchased this blue suede fridge crazy looking skirt. I am beyond happy I did it’s beautiful, only disappointing thing is it’s pretty large on me although I ordered the smallest size, yikes. Eventually I will have to take it to a tailor to take off some inches, so I can where it with other tops other than sweaters as pictured. It’s getting cold so I am glad I was able to get to where this one last time before the actual cold front hits. Once again Happy New Year!

Gift Guide for Her

2 posts? In one day? What!!!
Okay as promised here’s a Gift Guide but for HER now. I have a bit of a theme going on here with the all black, but I can’t help it. I have a couple of male followers that will thank me later, so you’re welcome in advance. All of the items are under $80 with the exception of one (those booties) in the image above only reason I put them there is because look at them they look good but here’s an alternative that cost less plus I’m extremely frugal so if you’re like me I’d go with these  (similar here) looks alike only difference is your bank account won’t suffer as much. Your mom, grandma, sister, friend, anybody would enjoy.

Take a Breath(er)

Mellow And Legs

FSCN1004

As Rick Flair would say “Woooooooooooo”

It is hot as heck out in New York I mean like really. Me being the winter person that I am, I definiteley do not like the hot weather I feel icky, stick and gross. And not to mention the sweat, well I’m use to the sweat since I work out 5 days out of the week but regardless ugh it’s hot! Today I got my hair done at the salon for the first time in about a month, because it’s hot so I just do it at home the other times. And I feel gooood. I’ve seen growth in my hair I was surprised, not to mention I almost cut it again today but I didn’t. I look in the mirror right now and I can see why people assume it’s fake, but it’s not promise hehe. Scroll on down and check out my post on how to grow that bad boy out.

Okay, anywaysince I was feeling myself a tad bit I decided why not post a little something. I honestly have so many summer clothing that I don’t even know I have until I open my drawer. Spotted this cute colorful small number I got not to long ago … well my mom did (Thanks Mom) at Marshall’s and I just love how these shorts are bright and short but not too short. I have a serious problem going into stores such as H&M, The Gap etc finding shorts then trying them on and there way to short. I don’t know how you gals do it but I can’t.

Last but not least, thanks running for giving me killer legs that I love.
